Preparing for my property manager interview

This question was originally posted by Diedra:

I have been an Assistant Community Director for nearly two years. In one week, I will be interviewing for a job as a Property Manager. I know the budget is a big thing at this employment level. And suggestions on what I need to study or review to prepare for my interview and for this position?

Thanks!

I don't know if it will help for this interview, but we like to see assitant managers doing something to prepare for their next job. courses, webinars, credentials, irem involvement, reading books on real estate, or general management. budgets are important, but showing what you have done to prepare for this next position i think is even more.

In this market, understanding the market and leasing is probably the most important thing. The few positions that I have filled and conducted interviews for this year have centered around that topic.
