Dee Herman Joined: 11/14/2011 08:50:13 Messages: 3 Offline	We have some centers where we leave our lights on all night and some centers where the lights automatically turn off an hour after the last tenant closes for business. Our owner has asked if we should turn all centers off for some period to save on power costs and wondered what other owners with retail centers (neighborhood type) do. Anyone have any feed back or experiences to share with us please? Dee

Lee Whitman Joined: 04/25/2011 08:53:07 Messages: 20 Offline	All lights off is a bad idea for security purposes; and I am assuming you are talking about parking lot and sidewalk lighting, not dock or service entrance lighting. Anyway, turning the common area lights off just invites negative activity. If your owner really insists, see if they will agree to leave at least a third of the parking lot lights on (and most if not all of any lights that are on/by storefronts) to make it easier for security or police patrols to see what is going on. The utility savings isn't worth the liability from the increased crime.
