We do welcome packages as well. We do include information about renter insurance, cupons to local stores, and fitness center since we do not have one on the propery, and we also include a list of phone number that our new resident may need once they move in .

Welcome packages are great! We get some good information from our local chambers to include. They provide us with free maps of the area which the residents relocating from out of the area love. They also have brochures about local businesses and entertainment areas which almost all include some type of first visit discount.

Welcome packages are great! We use welcome packages in my apartment building, and they work out great. We provide many brochures about local businesses, coupons, and other information that is very critical to the tenant, especially if they are new to the area.

We currently use welcome packages and I think that the resident really appreciates them. I find that they hold on to them as if they are Christmas gifts. We issue a box, that is pre-packaged, with a pretty ribbon and message card. Inside there is waht we call moving-day essentials, such as, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, garbage bags, dish towel/sponge, and napkins. We also give a binder with copies of their lease, all the business cards for associates, a resident handbook/house rules, as well as a list of nearby banks, schools, libraries, post offices, grocery stores, religious facilities, and utility companies. I loved the idea of coupons and will try to incorporate it into our welcome packages.

I am in the process of revamping our move-in (or welcome) package. We are using this opportunity to cross promote some of the businesses who lease space from us. This is a win-win as we build good will with those businesses while offering useful coupons for our area customers. We are also including a short summary of some of the more important property rules that often get lost in the lease, which can be dense reading if you're not in the business or an attorney! We also include information about public transportation with visual maps, since many/most of our customers rely on this form of transportation.

We recently purchased the greenbag's and have our logo and telephone number on both sides. It's great to put the move-in gift and welcome package inside of and it always makes me smile when I am at the grocery store and see our residents using them.

If you are talking about the IREM green bags with the logo, we also use those as the "goodie bags" at our annual golf tournament to put all the vendor freebies in. We've gotten a lot of positive comments from their continued use.

We distribute welcome packages/gifts to our new residents. We also refer to the welcome package and the Resident's Handbook for Apartment Living. It welcomes the resident to their new home and inform them more their about their home and the many services and amenities available. It explains how residents and management have responsibilities to each other and the welcome/resident handbook clarifies these responsibilities, as well as the rules that keep our community up to standards of excellence. Also, the handook describes basic operation and maintenance of their apartment home, as well as tips and service short cuts for their convenience, understanding their lease, how to request service for their apartment, how to contact us,energy conservation tips etc... Also, provide important numbers such as the after-hour emergency number and what constitutes as emergencies. We found that well informed residents are happier residents and tend to take value of their community.

Welcome Packages are great way to continue the relationship with your resident, especially the ones who are not familiar with the area or for people who are from out of town. We are always partnering with local businesses to add thier information to our packet!

Welcome packages are a great way to provide staff contact information and how maintenance requests should be communicated. They also typically provide building policy information and important forms for tenants to utilize when new keys or after hour badges are needed, where rent is to be mailed, and what to do in an emergency situation.

I manage student housing and the Welcome Packet is a vital part of the move in. We teach them, because this is usually their first apartment, the importance of keeping all of their paperwork pertaining to the apartment in the folder in a drawer in the kitchen so that it is easily found. We include a Welcome letter which provides the important phone numbers such as emergency lock out and emergency maintenance as well as instructions for placing a work order, what is an emergency after hours maintenance call, etc. Our Welcome packet includes gifts, coupons, etc. from our co-op marketing partners.

Do any of the companies you include in your welcome packets offer any specific incentives to your residents?

I have managed affordable housing, as well as conventional properties and they all have welcome packages. Not only that but I make it part of the move in procedure, we go thru the package quickly but pointing the key items. It has information about the management, property, the area (schools, libraries, shopping centers, etc), housekkeping tips, resident referral forms. Any other kind of information that may be given by other companies that allow us to leave our flyers with them.
