The common areas (hallways, stairways, laundry areas) of one of our apartment complexes have fallen a bit distressed due to bad paint jobs and plain old abuse. I am fixing up the hallways and doors and want to make more inviting and comfortable. the current color is off-white (everything - moldings, walls, ceiling...)

Does anyone have a color scheme or other improvement they would recommend?

Hey, Bryan! Think warmth! Warm colors in the color wheel are red and yellow...any combination of these two colors in any variation works. (Not that I'd choose red, yellow, or orange. :shock Soft, muted variations of these colors are very nice. Get a paint chart from McCormick Paint, Duron, or Sherwin Williams. I know all of these have some great color samples. OR, go to the LOWE'S website and use their virtual paint program to help you find the right color.

The Benjamin Moore website has a page where you can order paint samples for 4.99 each and they have schemes that work together. It was very helpful.

I've found that beiges and light browns are nice too. It gives a warm inviting feeling but is simple enough that the colors don't deter any potential applicants.
