Question from an IREM Member:
"I want a more tenant friendly name for the "Monthly Property Management Meeting". I think this sounds too impersonal. Do you have any suggestions?"

Comment from an IREM Member:
"If it's a tenant meeting, why call it "Property Management" anything? I would make it a service/solutions focus meeting. Tenants don't want property management, they want solutions to problems they have, or problems they don't even know about yet."

Comment from an IREM Member:
"We just had our first "Resident Meeting" today. I had a long list of items coming up - painting the building and change of tenant parking spaces for security reasons. We also reviewed the rules of the building with reminders about noise, unattended children, trash, etc.
At the end of the meeting I found out from tenants about things I didn't know about and that no one had bothered to tell the manager. It was very successful!
Later today I have another meeting with a different building. I am going to do these meetings every 6 months or so but not during the same months we do our semi-annual smoke detector and water leak checks in the apartments. I feel this will keep me in touch with the residents and if there are problems the managers are not addressing that I haven't heard about, I hope to hear those too."

If it is a resident meeting, we generally use the term "Resident Meeting". If it is an owner's meeting, we use the term "Owner's Meeting" and if it is a meeting involving multiple groups including residents, security, maintenance, etc. - we use the term "Team Meeting".

We have used "Building Events Update" or "Fight the Fire" (for our annual Fire Warden and Fire Drill Meeting)
