Empire State Building Leads Energy Initiatives

Some 80 years ago, a world class team of engineers and architects came together to design and build the Empire State Building, creating the tallest building in the world at that time.

Today, another world class team of building and sustainability experts has come together to make this New York landmark one of the most energy efficient commercial buildings in the United States.

The building will undergo a green retrofit that will reduce the Empire State Building’s energy use by a remarkable 38% per year, placing it in the top 10% of all U.S. office buildings in terms of energy efficiency.
