Local Real Estate Manager Earns Professional Designation
Winston-Salem, North Carolina, April 21, 2010: James Taylor Edmonds, Provisional Real Estate Broker and Leasing Manager of Messick Properties Group, Inc., Winston-Salem, NC, has earned the Accredited Residential Manager ® (ARM®) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®), an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors ®. The ARM® designation is awarded to real estate managers who have met the Institute’s rigorous requirements in the areas of professional education, examination and experience. ARM® members must also abide by a rigorous Code of Professional Ethics that is strictly enforced by the Institute.
James Edmonds is a 2005 graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelors of Arts degree in History. Following work in retail, James was hired in 2006 to work for Messick Properties Group, Inc. Patricia L. Messick, President, said that she knew she wanted to hire James Edmonds because of his people skills, and also his knowledge of marketing and accounting. “He was a good fit in property management,” Pat said.
James left Messick Properties in March 2007 through October 2009 to move to Charlotte, NC, where he was an apartment community manager for Matthews Crossing Apartment Homes, owned by Waterton Associates LLC, Chicago, IL. In October 2009, James decided it best to live more closely to his aging parents and family, and returned to Winston-Salem – and to his prior position with Messick Properties Group, Inc.
“I was concerned with finding the right employee for our Leasing Manager when the prior leasing manager decided to relocate to Vermont. Needless to say, I was very grateful that James was interested in returning to Messick Properties. His experiences with property management in the Charlotte area greatly broadened his knowledge, expertise and legal basis in the field. And he has since received his provisional broker license with the State of North Carolina Real Estate Commission. Here at Messick Properties, we’re very proud of James for his many accomplishments,” stated Pat Messick. “James has noted that real estate and property management, in particular, are fun, exciting and definitely never dull!”
